General Rules   

1.     The show is open to any youth ages 7-18 years old as of Jan 1 of current year, 4-H rules.

2.     The show committee reserves the right to decide on any questions or issues that arise that are not listed in the rules

3.     All animals must have proper identification in place or permanent I.D. such as a tattoo.

4.     Full fitting is allowed but not required to show.

5.     Entry Fees: Pre-registration and pay day of the show are welcome.   

                                                      Pre-Registration: $30/beef, $20/swine, sheep, and goats, $10 Showmanship.

                                                      Day of the show: $35/beef, $25/swine, sheep, and goats, $15 Showmanship.

6.     No limit on the number of entries. Each exhibitor mush shows his/her own animal. If 2 or more animals are in one class or if other circumstances arise, another youth member may assist.

7.     Gilts, does and ewes can show in both breeding and market but must pay entry for both. Place and “M” or “B” along with ear tag number on entry.

8.     Market hog prospects will have light AOB (Yorkshire, Chester, Landrace), dark AOB (Hampshire, Berkshire, Duroc, Spot, Poland, Hereford) and crossbred divisions.

9.     Market lamb prospects will have a white face (Dorset, Southdown, Speckle) and black face (Suffolk, Hampshire, Natural, Crossbred) division.  

10.  All breeding Cattle will be shown by breed, then divided by age. Breeding heifers must have registration papers and matching tattoo to show in their designated breed.

11.  Breeding gilts will be split into crossbred and purebred divisions. All purebred gilts show together and must have registration papers to show in the purebred division.

12.  All breeding Ewes and Does will be shown by weight. No breed Classes. Weight cards must be turned in.  

13.  There must be three (3) animals to make a breed class. If not three animals for a breed, then they will show in the AOB division.

14.  All animals must be free of infectious diseases or they will be dismissed from the grounds.

15.  Barns will be open for any participants who wish to bring their animals in the night before or use on show day, but stalls MUST be cleaned before departure and NO BEDDING allowed.

16.  Due to limited space, come prepared to show animals off of your trailer.

17.  All exhibitors of market animals, breeding does, breeding ewes and breeding gilts will declare the weight of their animal and turn in weight cards by designated times of their respective species.

18.  No entries will be accepted after weigh cards are due.

19.  Scales will be available for use on the grounds.

20.  The top 2 placing of each market class will be weighed back if necessary. No more than 5% of the weight declared will be allowed. If weight differs by more than 5%, the animal will be disqualified and not be allowed to compete for Grand and Reserve Overall along with not receiving any awards or payout.

21.  The decision of the judge is final.

22.  Person/exhibitors showing unnecessary handling of animals will be asked to leave the show and forfeit their entry/prizes.

23.  Showmanship- Exhibitors must show their own animal in showmanship, Senior (ages 14 and older) Intermediate (ages 11-13) Junior (ages 7-10)

24.  The purpose of this show is to provide a positive educational experience for youth in the livestock program.
